United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women, with approximately 800,000 members worldwide.

UMW Purpose:
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.

The UMW at Manahawkin UMC meets monthly, September through June, on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Monthly meeting programs center on aspects of Spiritual Growth, Geographic Studies, and Social Issues. Specific topics for 2017-2018 are:

Living as a Covenant Community (Spiritual Growth)
Missionary Conferences in the USA – Oklahoma Indian, Red Bird in Appalachia and Alaska (Geographic Studies)
Climate Justice (Social Issues)
Role and Responsibility of the Faith Community in Children’s Education (Social Issues)
