United Women in faith (UWIF)
United Women in Faith is the largest denominational faith organization for women, with approximately 800,000 members worldwide.
UWIF Purpose:
The organized unit of the UWIF is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries of the church.
The UWIF at Manahawkin UMC meets monthly, September through June, on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Monthly meeting programs center on aspects of Spiritual Growth, Geographic Studies, and Social Issues. Specific topics covered in the past were:
Living as a Covenant Community (Spiritual Growth)
Missionary Conferences in the USA – Oklahoma Indian, Red Bird in Appalachia and Alaska (Geographic Studies)
Climate Justice (Social Issues)
Role and Responsibility of the Faith Community in Children’s Education (Social Issues)
